Internship Program

We think young adults are brimming with ideas and energy which utilized well can be a huge contribution to the society. Our internship program aims in doing exactly the same. If you are a passionate person who cares about making a difference in Indian education system, our internship program will be of interest to you.

Samyukta

My name is Samyukta Shrivatsa. I am 22 years old. I am currently doing a Ph.D. in environmental engineering at Stanford University. I love reading, Carnatic music and exploring different styles of dance. Open Your Mind is a program I wish I’d had when I was in school. Now, I am passionate about helping students find ways to think creatively and explore new ideas. Over the summer of 2023, I was a part of the internship program and worked on the design thinking course and Back 2 Basics. I really enjoyed the challenge of finding fun ways to share some of my own interests in sustainability and design through this program.

Shirin

My name is Shirin Raman. I'm 18 years old and a psychology student at Ashoka University who loves reading and film analysis. When I heard about Open Your Mind, I was very interested in the philosophy behind it as it was something I agree with and I think children can benefit from. So, I joined their summer internship program and worked on the “Being Human” workshop. It gave me an opportunity to do research in different themes and figure out how to incorporate them into fun activities, which I really enjoyed.

Aarushi

My name is Aarushi. I am 18 years old and am doing my bachelors in English literature and psychology in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. I love playing basketball, reading and doing art. I heard about Open Your Mind from my friend and was very interested in the initiative. Hence, I took up their summer internship program and worked on “Countries and Culture” module, alongside another team member. The internship gave me an opportunity to learn more about countries and how their cultures are different from ours.

ketaki

My name is Ketaki Shah. I am 18 years old. I have just begun my undergraduate course at Krea University. I love making art, reading, writing, running, and music. I heard about Open Your Mind and thought the initiative was interesting! As someone who has just passed out of school, I am aware of the faults of the Indian Education system, this specific workshop does everything our system should be doing. It fosters a place for enjoyment for learning and encourages curiosity. The internship allowed me to delve deeper into my research interest while learning new concepts. It taught me how to efficiently work with someone better since I was partnered with another individual. As someone with an interest in history, this was also thoroughly enjoyable since I was able to research the history of various countries. All in all, this was a great experience for me and I learned a lot!

sriya

My name is Sriya. I am 18 years old. I am doing my undergrad in Communication and Media + Psychology at Christ University, Bengaluru. My hobbies are photography and singing. I was constantly looking for a credible internship during my 3 month break between school and college, when I came across the Open your Mind initiative from my friend. This is a great initiative not only for internships, but also for actually learning from the modules because this includes things that are not taught in the traditional schooling system. Since I handled the Biographies module along with another team member, I learnt a lot during the process. Considering I am not an avid reader, this internship encouraged me to read more and I found that very engaging.

prisha

I'm Prisha and I'm 17. I’m doing my undergrad in Psychology with a minor in Social Studies in Krea university. I really like art and music. I first learned about this internship from my good friend and immediately thought it was quite interesting. My internship has been nothing but awesome. I have truly learnt so much from all the research I have done and most of the information I have learnt has been so interesting!!
